Billy West Eagle of Salisbury passed on at his home on Nov. 3, 2012 after a 15 year courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born June 4, 1928 to the late Joycie Snider Eagle and Carpenter L. Eagle, Sr.. Bill was a 1945 graduate of Granite Quarry High School and Salisbury Commercial College. He was an employee of Carolina Tractor and Equipment Company with over 38 years of dedicated service.
Bill was a faithful member of Coburn Memorial United Methodist Church. Having been active in the Homemakers Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Men’s Fellowship and serving on many Official Boards, Bill also had 35 years of service with Boy Scout Troup 448. He enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors with family and friends, especially hunting, fishing and gardening.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by sisters Thelma Silliman and Nancy Watson; brother, C. L. Eagle, Jr., and brother-in-law Edmond Silliman.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Marie Eagle, and their children, Melba Melton, David and Mark Eagle; grandchildren Lori, Brian (LeJane) and Noah; great grandchildren Keaton, Kaleigh, and Serenity; brother
Glenn Eagle (Sue), and many relatives.
