Mr. Billy Wells Embry was born on September 13, 1950 in Decatur, Alabama to the late Mr. Charles Embry and Mrs. Tessie Mae Seymour Embry.
He confessed hope in Christ, was baptized and became a life-long member of the Frist Missionary Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama, where he served as a Christian Counselor and Deacon.
Billy received his formal education at Lakeside High School in Decatur, Alabama. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Toledo and his Master’s degree from Louis University in Chicago, Illinois.
He served as an Insurance Agent with Liberty National Life. His favorite hobby was tennis and his greatest accomplishment in life was being born again and living a good clean Christian life.
God quietly called Billy into eternal rest on Sunday night, July 21, 2013. His memory will be cherished by: his loving and devoted wife of 15 years, Gwendolyn; two children, Marcy Woods of Decatur and Eric Jackson of Toledo, OH; five grandchildren, Shania Lei Chandler of Decatur, De Shawna Barnhill, Eric Jackson Jr., John Jackson and Joshua Jackson of Toledo, OH; one sister, Doris E. Mack of Toledo, OH; one brother, William F. Kee of Decatur; and one special cousin, Mary L. Kelly of Decatur; and a host of other relatives and friends.
