Billy Wayne Howard, age 79, of Murfreesboro, passed away January 8, 2021 at a Hot Springs Hospital. He was born on September 3rd, 1941 in Murfreesboro, Arkansas the firstborn son of the late Robert Emmitt and Ellen (Cogdell) Howard. Billy Wayne was predeceased by his sister, Laverne Faulkner and his son, Marty Howard.
A veteran of the US Army, Billy Wayne was employed by Weyerhaeuser Lumber Mill in Murfreesboro until its closure. He then worked for Tyson Foods in Nashville until his retirement. He loved hunting and fishing and going for rides in the hills of Pike County looking for deer. He also loved sports and watching the Razorbacks play football and basketball. He loved the Lord and was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his son Michael Howard of Nashville; and five grandsons Jacob Green, Michael Howard, Jr., Robert Howard, Jeremiah Howard, and Joshua Howard of Nashville. He is also survived by his brother, Tommy (Debbie) Howard of Murfreesboro, and his sister Ruth Blount of Delight, as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of wonderful friends and loving caregivers at Murfreesboro Nursing Center over the past 15 years.
