Billy W. Hines was born March 8, 1954 in Decatur, Alabama to the late Bessie Mae and Richard Hines Sr. He departed this life on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at his residence in Decatur, Alabama.
Billy accepted Christ at an early age and united with Newcomb Street Church of Christ. He attended Lakeside High School. Billy was an automobile mechanic that worked for anyone in the community
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lela Kelley and Anna Woods; five brothers, Richard Hines, Jr., Bob Hines, Nathan Hines, Tommie Lee Hines and Dave Hines.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 16 years, Cynthia Phornore Hines; one daughter, Courtney Chapman; one child that he raised as his own, Dontae Willingham; two grandchildren, Kaylah and Elijah Chapman; two great grandchildren, Kay’lee and Kaislee Williams; one sister, Sharlotte Hines all of Decatur; one devoted nephew, Bob Howard, Jr; one devoted friend, Victor Mitchell and a host of nieces, other nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
