Billy Ray Gordon passed away on May 14, 2015. Billy was born December 31, 1949 in Guymon, OK, to Larry and Lucille (DeWolfe) Gordon. He is survived by his loving wife Mary (Dickerson) Gordon and three children Andrew and Lorrie Gordon, Molly Gordon, and Timothy Gordon and granddaughter Ziva Gordon. He is also survived by his siblings Janice Grice, Larry and Pat Gordon, and Kathy and Bill Maier.
He graduated from Madisonville High School in Madisonville, KT. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1969 to 1973 when he was honorably discharged. He moved to the Sanford Lake area in Sanford, MI in 1974. He attended Delta College. Shortly after he began his employment at Dow Corning where he worked for 21 years and took early retirement. He also worked for J.Ranck Electric for five years. His involvement with Dow Corning continued though as he helped with the construction of the Hemlock Semiconductor Plant and the Clarksville Plant.
Billy had many unique experiences and talents. In his younger years he played trumpet and coronet. He used to compete in square dancing and clog dancing competitions with his younger sister Kathy. At one point in time, he was a volunteer for police dog training. Billy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends enjoying a cold Budweiser. He liked to read, play video games, cook, and play golf. He always shared a story, joke, or funny animal video on Facebook. He was also a patriot.
