Billy L. Kubatzke, 73 of Freeport died Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born March 27, 1936, in Stephenson County he was the son of Earl and Ruth (Kneller) Kubatzke. On January 3, 1959, he and Joyce Meinert were united in marriage.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Army who farmed in the Stephenson County area his whole life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling and his memberships included Whitetails Unlimited, Freeport Bowling Association, and the Freeport Eagles Club.
Surviving are his wife Joyce of Freeport; four sons Kevin (Tami) Kubatzke of Freeport and family Shawn Kubatzke of Burlington, KS, Jennifer Kubatzke and Ashley Kubatzke both of Freeport, Kurt (Anne) Kubatzke of Freeport and family Ben and Katie Kubatzke both of Freeport, Kerry (Diane) Kubatzke of Ridott and family Brittney (Jeff) Kunz of Dakota, KaLeigh Kubatzke of San Diego, CA, Erik Kubatzke of Ridott, Kelly (Amy) Kubatzke of Leaf River and family Adam (Christina) Kubatzke of Fort Levenworth, KS, and Kyle Kubatzke of Leaf River; one Great grandchild Braxton Kubatzke of Freeport; three sisters Marjorie Damon of Durand, Doris Last of Freeport, and Alta (Gene) Wuthrich of Orangeville; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister Jane Cummins.
