Billy Joe “Bill” Humphrey, 79, of Rhome, Texas and formerly of Belton passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 in a Decatur hospital.
Bill was born on October 21, 1937 in Belton to Paul and Alice (Schumate) Humphrey. He was raised and attended schools in Belton. Mr. Humphrey worked as a surveyor for Goodson Engineering in the Dallas area for many years before retiring. He was a champion bull rider and is a member of the Bell County Rodeo Cowboy Ring of Honor.
Bill is survived by his son Paul Humphrey of Rhome, daughter Stacey Gates and her husband Jim of Rhome, and two sisters, Charlotte “Toad” Levy of Dewing, New Mexico and Johnnie Borden of Cleburne, Texas.
