Billy Joe Benefiel, 68, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born, September 13, 1951 in Greensburg, he was the son Russell and Mary (White) Benefiel. Billy graduated from Greensburg High School, he was a member of the Lifeline Wesleyan Church and Celebrate Recovery in Greensburg. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for Valeo for most of his life before retirement. Billy married Tonya “Tony” Gibbons on September 6, 2004 and she preceded him in death on June 9, 2009.
He is survived by two children; Shaun (Candace) Benefiel, Diana Shaw, two brothers; Robert F. (Connie) Benefiel, Gregory A. (Heather) Benefiel, two sisters; Patti (Tom) Nugent, Barbara (Travis Mays) Benefiel, five grandchildren; David “Andy” (Heather) Weddle, Ashley (Levi) Curry, Gage Benefiel, Tobie Benefiel, Colt Benefiel, and three great grandchildren; Zander Weddle, Zoey Weddle, and Renezmae Curry.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Russell and Mary Benefiel, his wife; Tonya “Tony” Benefiel, and one sister; Suzie Cripe.
