Billy James Jones was born on December 20, 1946 in Town Creek, Alabama to the late Albert Jones Sr. and Laura Mae White Jones. He departed this life on November 19, 2014 at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Decatur General Campus.
Billy was a member of Pennylane Church of Christ. He was a retired Machine Operator of Wolverine Tube and was currently employed by Hartselle City Schools.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Laura Jones; sister Lizzy Bell Taylor and brother George Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Deborah Stevens Jones of Hartselle, Alabama; daughter, Traci Jones Sumter (Gregory) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; foster son, Jeremy Brooks of Columbia, South Carolina; five sisters, Lila Malone Decatur Alabama, Susie Orr (Jack), Francis Hereford and Rosie Foster, all of Hartselle, Alabama. Annie White (Joe) of Jefferson, Indiana. Three brothers Johnny Jones (Eunice), Charles Jones (Thelma) Norah Jones Jr.(Ella) of Hartselle, Al; one grandson, John Sumter of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
