Mr. Billy Hugh Moody, age 67, of Lanett passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the EAMC Lanier Hospital in Valley.
Mr. Moody was born on January 28, 1949 in Robinson County, North Carolina to the late Capers Moody and Lennie Parker Moody.
Mr. Moody is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sara Moody; children, Francis Shumake, William Childers, Daniel Moody, Justin Shumake; siblings, Bobby (Cheryl) Moody, Lonnie (Brenda) Baldwin, Patricia (Mark) Oakes, Joyce Baldwin; grandchildren, Caden Barile, Julian, Dillon, Noah, and Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, H.B. Moody, Wayne Moody, Elizabeth Moody, Kenneth Moody, Linda Harris, Larry Moody, and Debbie Finklea.
Mr. Moody was a member of the Faith Evangelistic Church for 24 years.
He worked for Pantry Pride Grocery Stores in Jacksonville, Florida for 10 years and with Gurden Industries for 2 years in Waycross, Georgia.
He was a United States Army veteran that served in the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971. He was honorably discharged after his military service to his country and retired thereafter.
