Billy H. Burgess 11/6/1940 – 9/1/2015 Billy Howard Burgess, age 74, passed away September 1, 2015 at Reliance Hospice in Griffin, GA. Mr. Burgess was born in Heard County, GA to the late James Elias and Minnie Kate Burgess. Mr. Burgess graduated from Heard County High School in 1958. He worked for the William L. Bonnell, corporation (and later Tredegar) until his retirement in February 1998. Mr. Burgess was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newnan. He loved going to the beach, restoring old cars, coaching little league, football, baseball and gathering with friends for Karaoke. He was a member of the Sylvan Masonic Lodge for many years where he received many honors for his dedication and contributions. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burgess was preceded in death by brothers Nathaniel Burgess and Bonnie Burgess: sisters Merle Burgess Hinesley, Audrey Burgess Nichols, Edith Burgess Nolen and Mildred Burgess. Mr. Burgess is survived by his daughter Kimberly Burgess Peruski (Michael) of Newnan, GA and son Jeffrey Blake Burgess (Carrie) of Cumming, GA. Grandchildren include Graham and Mary-Blake Peruski of Newnan and Kyra and Jordon Burgess of Cumming, GA. Former spouse, Kay Burgess Jensen (Bill) of Newnan, GA; sister, Shirley Burgess Yarbrough and many nieces and nephews.
