Wright, Billie (Knowles) of Center Point, passed away on Sunday, July 12,2020.  A successful businesswoman, fierce mother, loyal friend and doting Mimi, Billie loved reading as many newspapers as she could get her hands on, watching Braves baseball, cheering on the Crimson Tide, sunbathing with family and friends at the beach, and being with her grandchildren.  A homecoming queen, head cheerleader and all-around force of nature at Hewitt High School, Billie went on to earn her cosmetology license and work for Tom Myers before opening her own beauty salon in Center Point.  Billie, who never met a stranger, had a warm personality and a big heart, and her salon became a hub in the community. More recently, her shop was located within St. Vincent’s East Hospital. Billie proudly served on the Eastern Women’s Committee of 50 and was a long-time member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Trussville.  She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, husband James “Itchey” Wright.  Survivors include adored children Larry (Mellanie), Garry (Diane) Lou Anne (Bill), and Jim (Joanne), as well as beloved siblings Jimmy Knowles (Peggy), Tommy Knowles (Caroline), and Pat Morgan.  She also leaves behind treasured grandchildren; Rachel, Lauren, Abby, Lee and Ginger, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. We are grateful for her many special friends who have walked beside over these many years.
