Upland: Billie Jean (Bales) Cox, 73, passed away at the University Nursing Center Tuesday at 11:35 p.m.
She was born in Corbin, KY, the daughter of the late Curtis and Blanche (Pope) Bales. She graduated from Corbin High School in 1950. She married James Cox on July 24, 1973. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2005. Mrs. Cox was a production worker at Thompson retiring in 1995. She attended Hanfield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoyed growing various flowers in her garden.
Survivors include a daughter, Debbie (David) Troyer, Upland; two sons, Greg (Tracey) Hearn, Gas City, Martin (Traci) Hearn, Upland; a nephew, Jimmie (Tonya) Standeford, Fairmount; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Harold (Juanita) Bales, Thomasville, GA; four sisters, Alma Miller, Mission TX, Lois Asher, Doris Durben, both of Marion, and Wilma LaHorner, New Port Richey, FL.
