William Albert Varner; 67; passed away Monday, January 29, 2007 at Health Center at Standifer Place. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, carpenter by trade, and was an Air Traffic Controller in the Air Force. He was often referred to as the “Wizard”, because of his love of computers. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lorene Varner. He is survived by his companion, Vivian Schmitt, Chattanooga; sons, Michael Varner; Tom (Kim) Varner; Jimmy Varner,; John (Amy) Varner; and David (Amy) Varner, all of Oregon; brother, Jimmy (Darlene) Varner; sisters, Jerry Sue (Steve) Smith; Leann (Bill) Higdon; and Ginger Swallows, all of Soddy Daisy; and 6 grandchildren.
