Bill (Billy) Whiteside, age 59, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, CO after a long struggle with multiple health problems.
Bill was one of kind. Born in Schenectady, NY to John and Camilla Whiteside, and was the second oldest of four children.
Bill graduated from Katella High School in California in 1977. He ventured to Colorado and fell in love with the Rocky Mountains, Janet, and the Denver Broncos. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1979, and received an Honorable Discharge after 3 years. Bill married Janet in the foothills west of Denver in February 1994 (25yrs ago). He adored Janet and what he enjoyed most in life was doting over her, protecting her, acting silly with her, and laughing. He was a hard worker with a rugged exterior, but he had a soft middle, a great sense of humor, and a big heart to love his family, and his dogs: Sasha, Sammy, and Harley. Riding his snowmobiles and driving his Dodge Ram pickup – NASCAR fast — were passionate activities for Bill; who owned his own flooring and handyman business for most of his life.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, and brother, Jimmy. He is survived by his wife, Janet Whiteside; his father, John Whiteside of Leesburg, FL; step-mother, Joyce; step-sister, Diane; step-brother, Alan; son, Derrick of Magnolia, TX; his oldest brother, John (Veronica), of Big Bear, CA; his sister, Tammy (Ron) of Ft Myers, FL; three nieces (Andrea, Michelle, Jamie) and four nephews (Brady, Michael, Brett, Jake); four grandchildren (Beckam, Brooklynn, Kasen, Kayla); and Uncle Mike and Aunt Sheri; his mother-in-law, Del McCoy; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lori and Bill Young; sister-in-law, Heather Elmore; and nephew, Jabin Elmore.
