Biagio Caiafa, 91, formerly of Wilmot Road, Hamden passed away April 15, 2016 at Mary Wade Home in New Haven. He was the beloved husband of the late Ellen Guida Caiafa. Born in New Haven Nov. 8, 1924, He was the son of the late Pasquale and Maria Fortunata DelPrete Caiafa. He was a toolmaker and foreman at the former Geometric Tool Co. in New Haven for many years. Very active in St. Brendan’s Parish, he served as a trustee, as a lector and collector and was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Council at St. Brendan’s. The family would like to acknowledge the K-2 staff and caregivers at Mary Wade Home for their compassionate care. He is survived by one son, Paul (Pauline) Caiafa of North Haven; one daughter, Teresa (Anthony) Ciaramella of Prospect; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Dominic J. and Antonio Caiafa and sister, Angelina Caiafa.
