Beverly (Bev to almost everyone she knew) was born on July 30, 1928, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and spent the first 19 years of her life just up the road on the family farm in Jim Falls. She often told stories of those years growing up and how wonderful her childhood had been.
For several years they moved around California, pursuing Chuck’s oil wildcatting ventures, finally settling in Woodland Hills and Tarzana, California. During those years, she had three boys (Rick Charles – 1950, Mark Lee – 1956, Todd Steven – 1962). Those were generally good years, with many friends and frequent summer trips back to Wisconsin.
In the late seventies, Bev and Chuck divorced, with Bev going back to the workplace as a successful office administrator for real estate firms. The eighties and nineties marked some tough times, with the loss of Mark, and then Todd, and a crushed hip from a car accident.
After a couple of years of recovery in Colorado at the home of Rick and his wife Teresa, Bev returned to California, rooming for several years with her good friend, Grace Shelton. Bev spent the final 13+ years in Kuna, Idaho, to be close to Rick, Teresa and their family.
Bev passed away peacefully on July 18, 2019, with family in attendance. She is survived by her son Rick Townsend, daughter-in-law Teresa Echeverria Townsend, granddaughters Amanda Kirkpatrick and Kirsten Becker, and great grandchildren Gavin, Amaia, and Lucas.
