Beverly May Moehring, recently of Nampa, Idaho, formally of Boise, passed away peacefully at home with her oldest daughter and daughter-in-law by her side, on Sunday morning, February 5th, 2017.

Beverly was born on May 2nd, 1929, in Tacoma, WA, to Frederich Leo Reiter and Lydia West. Mr. Reiter soon deserted his wife and child and Beverly was raised by her mother and was an only child.  They moved to Spokane, where Beverly attended school and graduated from Rogers High School.  She was a member of the Cook’s Figure and Dance Skating Club, performing on roller skates at the rink in Spokane.

Beverly married Harry Sikkenga in 1948 and had a baby girl in December, 1949.  Harry and Beverly divorced when their daughter was 2 years old and Beverly was a single parent for several years.

In 1954, she met Francis (Bill) Moehring, who was stationed at Fairchild Air Force base in Spokane.  Although she repeatedly told Bill she didn’t really like him, he persisted and on February 10th, 1955, they were married. From then until his retirement, they spent time in France, Germany, Texas, Idaho and South Carolina, adding 5 more daughters to their family.  During this time, Beverly worked in retail for the base exchange and private retail stores. She enjoyed Pinochle parties and playing Bingo. When Bill retired, the family returned to Boise, Idaho.

In 1977, Beverly and Bill went to work for Hewlett Packard.  In 1983, she and Bill “retired” from HP and moved to Bayview, Idaho to be with Beverly’s mom.  However, being away from family and friends proved too much and she, Bill, her mother and step-father all returned to Boise, where she and Bill returned to work at HP.  Eventually, they both retired for real.

After Bill died, Beverly moved in with her daughter Lisa (Paul) and family, where she lived for 13 years.  She was eventually diagnosed with dementia and her health began to decline.  In August, 2016, she went to live with her oldest daughter, Cheryl (Julia).

Beverly was a very special mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great-great Grandmother. She worked hard all of her life and was a generous, caring, loving person.  She is survived by her step-daughter, Annie Bauer (Tom) residing in Ohio, daughters Cheryl Hudon (Julia), Karen Stokesberry (Fred), Kathy Youngkin (Frank), Lori Leeson, Lisa Barnett (Paul) and Donna Caldwell, all in the Treasure Valley, as well as 16 grandchildren, 24 Great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren, as well as one Aunt, Shirley Higgenbottom, in Winlock, Washington.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  If anyone asks, just tell them, “She’s gone camping.”
