Beverly Loehr was born Beverley Jean Houston on 12/17/1927 in Quillkyute, Washington but was raised in Bigfork, Montana. She passed from this world at her home in Gisela on 4/28/2018. Bev came to Payson in 1947 where she met Max Loehr while working at the Owens Logging Camp at Pyette Draw northeast of town. They were married on July 4, 1947 in Flagstaff, Arizona.

For many years, Bev worked at the old Whiting Brothers gas station on the corner of Main and Beeline while her husband Max worked as a mechanic for the Payson Sawmill. Later Bev worked at the Beeline Café making pies and working in the kitchen for the Sexton’s for over 40 years, then later the caring for Millie Sexton.

Survivors include, 6 children; Sharon, Gordon (Wife Kathy, Dora Jean (husband Jerry Sheridan), Diane, Sandy, and Jimmy. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, nearly 50 great grandchildren, and numerous great great grandchildren.

“Aunt Bev” will be remembered as a friendly, open, caring mother, neighbor, and friend who’s down home hospitality brought a smile to those she knew.
