Beverly “Bev” Jean (Yontz) Meredith, 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Golden Living Center in Elkhart. She was born in Elkhart, IN on September 16, 1937, to the late James and Dorothy (Sharkey) Rowe.
Bev is survived by “her boys,” Dean (Carla) Yontz of Elkhart, IN, Clifford (Miriam) Yontz II of Coldwater OH, Jeffrey (Lisa) Yontz of New Paris, IN, and Timothy (Julie) Yontz of Fort Myers, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents and former spouses; sisters, Imogene Cressler, Helen Lech, Barbara Gibson, Phillis Secor, Susie Glore, and Joyce Cart; and brothers, Kenneth Rowe, Richard Rowe, Larry Rowe, and Jimmy Rowe.
Bev was a kind, friendly, and beautiful woman. Her sweet smile could light up a room and would be infectious to anyone she was around. Bev graduated from Jimtown High School and later married Clifford Yontz, with whom she started her family. Bev was a homemaker and kept busy raising “her boys.” She enjoyed camping with her family, especially when they would venture to Fox Wood Hills Campground during the summer.
One of her children’s fondest memories was going with their mother and father to the local Dairy Queen in Elkhart late in the evening in their pajamas. The family would like to thank everyone at Real Services for taking loving and tender care of their mother over the past 11 years. They would also like to thank Chaplain Bob Puhr for his kindness and ministry.
