Beverly Anne (Beeler) Smith died suddenly on October 12, 2014 at the age of 85 years old. She is survived by her four children, David, Britt, Craig and Nancy, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who mourn her passing.

Beverly (Bev) was born December 5, 1928 in Portland, Oregon. She was the younger of two children, who enjoyed a wonderful childhood with their widowed mother, Ann. After high school graduation, and 2 years at Oregon State University, Bev married David Smith, MD in 1950. The next decade found David serving in the Korean War, completing medical school and residency as Bev kept order in the growing family. The family, now with with 4 children, moved to Flagstaff in 1962.

Through the years, she was active with many professional organizations and the Republican Party. She loved helping people and being part of the action. She worked for the chamber of commerce and as a successful realitor in the second of half of her life. Beverly was full of energy and embraced adventures, such as flying an airplane and riding a zip-line in Costa Rica (at the age of 72 years). She never let fear or failure stop her from completing her desired goals.

She was an accomplished artist with a passion for painting. She attended classes and workshops to learn new techniques and styles to express her love of nature through art. Bright colors and the changing Fall leaves in afternoon light always fascinated Bev. She loved tending her garden through the seasons and enjoyed sitting on her patio admiring the fruits and flowers of her labor. She was very talented and kept busy doing all forms of arts and crafts.
