Beverly (Krenisky) Wojtusik, 75, of Newington, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020. She was the beloved wife of Julian Wojtusik, Jr. for 53 years. Born in Thomaston, daughter of the late Steven and Olga (Volchuck) Krenisky, she graduated from Morris Harvey College in West Virginia and settled in Newington over 50 years ago to raise her family. She was employed for many years as a Unit Secretary at the CT Children’s Medical Center before serving the Newington community and forging lifelong friendships during her employment at Mortensen’s Dairy. Beverly was a parishioner and frequent volunteer at Church of the Holy Spirit in Newington. She enjoyed baking, the beach, going to the movies, dancing and was an avid reader. She was also known for making a legacy of quilts handed down to every family member. She also created pearl necklaces for all her granddaughters. She especially loved her dogs throughout the years. Along with her husband, she leaves her four children, Wendy Bender and her husband Brian of Bristol, Beth Matthews and her husband Jeff of MN, Debbie Hammarlund and her husband John of Plantsville, and Steven Wojtusik and his wife Nicole of Kensington, and 11 grandchildren, Nicole Citino and her husband Frank, Grant Matthews, Samantha Bender, Joel Matthews, Rebecca Bender, Meghan Hammarlund, Maxwell Wojtusik, Sloane Matthews, Lauren Bender, Olivia Wojtusik and Ryan Hammarlund. She also leaves her brother Steven Krenisky and his wife Dee, several nieces and nephews, many great, close friends and her canine companion “Lucky Dog”. Funeral services will be private with Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington.
