Beuna “Bea” Ogburn Conrad, 96, a resident of Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center.
Born November 14, 1921 in Winston-Salem, NC, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Ethel Luper Ogburn. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Jasper R. “Jack” Conrad in 1999.
Bea worked in the accounting field and retired from Black and Decker in Hampstead, MD in 1983. She was a long-time, faithful member of Sandy Mount United Methodist Church in Finksburg. Her family was her pride and joy, and she was known for her home-made bread, cakes and cherry pies.
Surviving are daughters, Joyce Grimm and husband George of Manchester, MD, and Janice Schiff of Arlington, VA; son, Steven Conrad and wife Michelle of Elkridge, MD; grandchildren, Matthew Conrad and wife Michelle, Sarah Birx and husband Enoch, Mark Conrad and wife Lauren, and Peter, Noah and Susanna Conrad; great-grandchildren, Bethany, Julia, Benjamin and Emily Conrad and Luke, Jack, Anne and Joel Birx; sisters, Wanda Hunter of Winston-Salem, NC, and Rebecca Shortell of Port Richey, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by siblings, Thelma Carpenter, Peggy Polk, Thomas Ogburn, Aubra “Tim” Ogburn, Erna Ogburn and Gwen Johnson.
