Beulah McVeigh, age 84, of Algona, died on Tuesday September 18, 2012 at the Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City.
Heaven better have a sense of humor. Beulah L McVeigh went to be with her lord Tuesday, September 18, 2012. Blessed with a thirst for knowledge she instilled that same zest for life into her children, Julia Kay, Michael Jay and Thomas Ray. She loved rides in the boat, trips to Call State Park, Clear Lake, Okoboji and anywhere there was laughter and an occasional glass of wine or beer. Sharp witted at all times, Beulah was good through and through. Strong in her opinions, she’d respect others but wasn’t easily persuaded to change hers.
Many will remember Beulah for her work at Lucia Wallace, with the local Garden Group and her work with the First United Methodist Church. Beulah loved the outdoors, especially lovely flowers, plants and she worked hard to attract feathered friends around her home. She loved Andy and Barnie even rerun after rerun. Let the Mayberry Reunion begin. She’d tolerate trips to baseball games. Not so much because she loved the games as much as she loved being with family. A great sport. Beulah was lucky to still have so many of her lifelong friends around to share a laugh.
Beulah was preceded in death by her loving husband Milton Elbert McVeigh. She is survived by her children, her “favorite” son in law, and daughter in law Brenda. Lisa and Michelle will miss their grandma “B”. We all will.
