Beulah L. Markillie, 87, of Peoria, IL, and formerly of Jacksonville, IL died Sunday evening, November 25, 2012, at Bickford Cottage in Peoria. She was born April 25, 1925, in Waverly, IL, the daughter of Marvin and Nellie Louise Miner McCready. She married Lloyd J. “Mark” Markillie on November 9, 1947, in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on September 9, 1984.

She is survived by a daughter, Regina Deke (husband, Jerry) of Overland Park, KS; two sons, Reg Markillie (wife, Chris) of South Jacksonville and Randy Markillie (wife, Jual) of Peoria; six grandchildren, John Deke (wife, Lara) of Princeton, NJ, Jocelyn Stidham (husband, Ryan) of Olathe, KS, Jennifer Lindgren of Franklin, Marc Brown of Jacksonville, David Brown (fiancé, Perla Rosenfeld) of Bakersfield, CA, and T.J. Brown (wife, Erin) of Jacksonville; and six great-grandchildren, Jacob and Ellie Lindgren, Amiah and Faeolyn Brown, and Cole and Kaelyn Stidham. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shari Lair (surviving husband, Jeff of Jacksonville), and a brother, Charles McCready.

Mrs. Markillie was a 1943 graduate of Waverly High School and attended Brown’s Business College in Jacksonville. She served over 23 years as a secretary for the Morgan County Soil and Water Conservation District office. She was a former member of Central Christian Church and more recently a member of Lincoln Ave. Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending Jacksonville Theater Guild events and Super Senior activities at Lincoln Ave. Baptist Church. In her spare time, Beulah loved flower gardening and listening to Big Band music.
