Bettyrose Mae Hopper, age 89, of Centralia, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Odin Healthcare Center in Odin, IL surrounded by her family.

Bettyrose was born January 14, 1928 in Centralia, the daughter of Ernest Theodore Jolliff and Ruby Hazel (Sexton) Jolliff.

She married Royal Hopper, Jr. on May 18, 1946 in Centralia and he preceded her in death on September 19, 2016. They shared over 70 years of marriage together. She is survived by four children: Linda Anderson of Olathe, Kansas, Gary Hopper and wife Maggie of Dix, IL, Janice Hurn of Centralia, and Brian Hopper and Fiancé Diane Birnstill of Dix, IL; Eighteen grandchildren: Dawn Workman and husband Grant of Olathe, Kansas, Shane Stoafer and wife Laura of Olathe, Kansas, Valerie Sherman of Centralia, Amber West and husband Brian of Centralia, Cory Hopper and Fiancé Chrystal of Vernon, Heather Walsh and husband Brett of Shawnee, Kansas, Matthew Terry and wife Tosha of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Stacie Hurn and special friend Andy Calvin of Centralia, Jacob Hurn and Fiancé Ashley Gramlick of Centralia, Jamie Crawford of Strafford, Missouri, Ashton Orrill of Sandoval, Adam Rolf of Centralia, Chelsi Hatcher of Centralia, Danny Anderson of Georgia, Zach Anderson of Olathe, Kansas, Chari Anderson of Olathe, Kansas, Kortni Anderson of Centralia Timothy Neal of Australia; twenty-eight great grandchildren: Jarrod, Ryan, Braylen Workman, Makenzie Hopper, Drew Sherman, Matthew Ali, Coen and Pacey West, Adilyn Hopper, Amelia Logsdon, Katlyn and Ethan Terry, Breanna and Paxton Callender, Amara Hurn, Raelee, Keelee, Crue, Preslee, Brinlee Crawford, Alyza Rolf, Bridget and Scarlett Van Loenen, Marley Clark, Alexander Anderson, Olivia, Damien, Madilyn Graham.

Bettyrose was preceded in death by her husband: Royal Hopper, parents: Ernest Theodore Jolliff and Ruby Hazel (Sexton) Jolliff, two daughters: Debra Neal and Rhonda Hatcher; grandson: Alan Hopper; great grandson: Kaeson Crawford; great granddaughter: Destiny Workman; three sons-in-law: Alan Hurn, Robert Neal, and Terry Hatcher.

Bettyrose retired from St. Mary’s Hospital working in Dietary. She enjoyed camping, playing the organ, baking, and knitting. She made many different trinkets with beads for her family and friends. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
