Wheeler, Betty was born August 3, 1917 in Buffalo, New York, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the age of 97. Betty (Kranichfeld) grew up in Buffalo, New York and during her youth worked in the local department store, Hens and Kelly’s, where she met her future husband, Henry Wheeler. They married on May 21, 1942. While Henry was serving his country during World War II, Betty worked at Bell Aircraft Corporation constructing the P-39 Airacobra that was used in the war effort. Upon the ending of the war and Henry’s return from Germany, they lived in Buffalo, New York and started a family.
She was active at Pine Crest School where she was a founding member of The Founder’s Council. In 1979, Betty moved with her family to Boca Raton where she was a member of St.
