Betty W. Best Sayers, 83, Pendleton, died May 20, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born November 4, 1923, in Markleville, Indiana, and resided in the Pendleton area all of her life.

She retired as a clerk in 1983 from the US Army Finance & Accounting Center at Fort Benjamin Harrison. Betty enjoyed raising roses, but her #1 interest was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband: Malcome D. Sayers whom she married on June 12, 1942. Children: Kathy & husband James Graeber of Seminole, Florida, Bonita Sue & husband Michael Vorst of Destin, Florida and Ronald & wife Connie Sayers of Anderson. Also, surviving are eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to St. John’s Hospice and Sincere Care. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cloyd & Garnet Steffler Best; two brothers, Joe Best and James Best; a sister, Waneatta Dasher; and her step-mother, Ruth Greenlee.
