Betty Thomas Prewitt, 85, of Northport, Alabama passed away on Sunday August 8, 2021, after an extended illness.

Betty was born on January 27, 1936 in Greensboro, Al. She attended school at Mount Herman school.

Betty married George Prewitt of Northport. During her life she worked many different jobs and made many friends at those jobs. Her passion was cooking. She had made hundreds of delicious cakes for people and to auction off at fundraisers.

Betty was an active member of the Eastern Star and traveled throughout the state. She helped George organize many fundraising events to raise money for EaglesWings of Tuscaloosa, a non-profit organization assisting adults with developmental disabilities.

Betty was an active member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Coker alabama. She served on several committees, but her favorite was the kitchen committee. She loved serving others and cooking good southern food. 

She is preceded in death by her husband George, parents Pharis Thomas and Euell Perkins Thomas. She is survived by son Allen Abston (Debbie) of Brookwood, daughter Wendy Abston of Coaling, daughter Rhonda Dunn (Marlon) of Northport, son Bryan Prewitt (Kelly) of Atlanta, grandchildren Blake Abston, Haley Abston, Austin Bush, Adrianna Bush Foster, Ashley Dunn, Heath Dunn, Cole Prewitt, Daniel Prewitt, William Gilmore, and Waller Gilmore, as well as great grandchildren Steelie Grey, Atley Abston, and Emmit and Kerrigan Foster.
