She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Ione (Wilson) Toye; 3 sisters, Florence Tysseling, Maxine Filzen, and Mildred Ernst; her brother, Wesley Toye; and a grandson, Anthony J. Schiebel.
Betty was a graduate of Newton High School in 1941. She was employed by the Maytag Company in the personnel office for 8 years. She then worked for 16 years as an Administrative Officer for the State of Colorado, retiring in 1986.
