Mrs. Betty Sue Rains Summerour, age 86 of Birmingham died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. Betty was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in the Huffman/Roebuck area. She was preceded in death by her parents, Newt Sylvester Rains and Emma Lenora Orr Rains; her husband, James Allen Summerour; her son, James Burton Summerour; her grand-son-in-law; William “Billy” Stewart and nine siblings. Survivors include her daughter, Donna S. (Jim) Hayes of McCalla; her son, Bob (Becky) Summerour of Taylors, S.C.; three grandchildren, Shannon (Jon) Keevert, Kaci (Travis) Chapman and Jennifer L. Stewart. Five great grandchildren; Chase and Kelsey Keevert, Emily Chapman, Reese Stewart and Brice Chapman.
