Betty Smith, 82, of Old Lyme and formerly of Bristol, widow of Rudolph Smith, died on Thursday, June 19, 2008.
Betty was born May 12, 1926 in Bristol, daughter of the late Charles and Betty Hultman. She was a lifelong resident of Bristol before moving to Old Lyme to live with her daughter, Beverly. She had worked for the American Red Cross and later for the Bristol City Clerk’s Office until her retirement. She was very active in the Bristol Civic Theater, the Bristol Chorus and the Mount Southington Summer Theater.
She is survived by her five daughters, Beverly Lane of Old Lyme, Sharon McCallum and her husband, Edward, of Key West, FL, Claudia Dunn and her husband, Michael, of Superior, NE, Christine Smith and her husband, John Brown, of Eureka, NV, and Audria Smith of Flagstaff, AZ; her brother, Clarence Hultman of Bristol; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
