On Saturday, January 18, 2020 Betty S. Walke passed away quietly with the love and company of her family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a long battle with cancer. She was 79 years old. Betty was predeceased by her husband Bernard John Walke with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Betty was born in Arizona where she met her husband Bernard. The two started their family while traveling the world while serving in the U.S. Air Force finally settling down in Danvers. Betty’s greatest love was her family. She is survived by her five sons Paul R. Walke and his wife Nancy, John A. Walke and his wife Colleen, Alan V. Walke and his wife Andrea, Bernard J. Walke and his wife Lisa and James A. Walke and his wife Bonnie. Betty is also the very proud Grandmother of Erica Walke, Amanda Walke, Hanna Walke, Adam Walke, Mathew Walke, Michael Walke, Sara Walke, Jenna Walke, Meagan Walke and Tyler Walke. She is also survived by her brother Porter Harlan and his wife Lona and sister Joyce Harlan. Betty was recently predeceased by her brother Meredith Harlan, known well as Uncle Pug. Betty’s final wishes are that we all take care of ourselves, work hard and be kind towards one another. There will be no ceremony at this time.
