Betty Ruth McKillip, 88, of Fort Madison, Iowa, formerly of Galesburg, died at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 in West Point, Iowa.
Betty was born June 2, 1927 in Galesburg, the daughter of John Zane and Mary Susan McCord Belt, Jr. She married William C. McKillip on January 8, 1949 in Galesburg.
Betty is survived by four sons, John (Kathleen) of Fort Madison, IA, James (Peggy) of Peoria, Thomas (Carolyn) of Gilson, and Timothy (Diane) of St. Louis, MO; one cousin, Kay Shragel of Sun City, AZ; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill on January 9, 1979 and her parents.
Betty was a homemaker and a LPN. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. To Betty, her family was the most important thing in life. She and Bill enjoyed square dancing and playing cards with friends. She also volunteered for several years at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
Betty also enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzles.
