Betty Ruth Byers, age 84, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 2, 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Byers; parents, Samuel Burton Ridley and Flora Morgan Ridley; brothers, Samuel Eugene Ridley, William “Bill” Ridley, Loyd Ridley; sisters, Frances Rogers, Dorothy Hudgins and Thelma Morgan. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Jimmy and Teresa Byers of Dalton; daughters and son in law, Peggy Jean Barnett of Dalton, Charlene and David Smith of Dalton; sisters and brother in law, Margie and JC Medders of Lafayette, Kathleen Byers of Dalton; grandchildren, Shon Godfrey, Shelby and Ralph Smith, Erica and Mike Brehm; great grandchildren, Aaron Godfrey, Kaelyn Vigil, Kelsey Smith, Brody Smith, JD Brehm, Damien Brehm and Haley Burns; and several nieces and nephews.
