Betty Rose Badgley Thornburg, 80, Anderson, died October 3, 2002 at St. Johns Health System, Anderson, Indiana after her life being extended nearly 5 years following a major illness. She was born July 10, 1922 in Anderson, Indiana.

She was a lifelong resident of Anderson. She retired from The Personnel Department of Delco Remy Division of General Motors in 1979. She attended Shadeland Elementary School, graduated from Anderson High School in 1940, attended Gulf Park College in Gulf Port, Mississippi and graduated from Depauw University in 1944.

She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority at Depauw. She was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and the Women’s Circle at the church. She was also a member of Delco Remy Women’s Retirees. She is survived by her One Daughter: Linda Rose Thornburg and partner Janet Mullaney of Columbus, Ohio. One Son: Thomas K. Thornburg and spouse Claren Schweitzer of Kalamazoo, Michigan. One Sister: Janet Badgley Cotton of Scottsdale, Arizona. One Brother: Donald V. Badgley of Muncie.

Three Grandchildren: Alicia Pahl, Colin Pahl and Lydia Rose Thornburg. Many Nieces, Nephews loving friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her Mother: Ruth Tanner Badgley. Father: O.V. Badgley. Four Sisters: Louise Sandberg, Harriett Laughlin, Nancy Walker and Margery Williams. One Brother: Robert L. Badgley.
