Betty Reed, 88, of Bentonville, AR and formerly of Jacksonville, IL died Thursday, August 2, 2012 at her residence in Bentonville.
She was born June 25, 1924 in Jacksonville; the daughter of Charles and Irene Looker Walihan. She married Lester Andrew Reed on April 12, 1942 in Jacksonville and he survives.
She is also survived by two children, Charles Larry Reed and Patricia Hale, both of Bentonville; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lela Everett, Pauline Sorrill, and Shirley Rahe.
Mrs. Reed was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and Brown’s Business College. She was the payroll clerk for Ysleta School District in El Paso, TX for 27 years prior to her retirement. She was of the Methodist faith.
