Betty R. Gosnell, age 93, a resident of Orchard Beach for 66 years, passed at her home on February 14, 2017.
She was born on February 23, 1923, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, to the late Bertha and William Moore. A veteran of World War II, she served in the Women’s Army Corps from 1943 until 1945. Along with her children and grandchildren, she loved absolutely anything having to do with John Wayne.
Along with her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years: James W. Gosnell, Sr., who passed in 1987; her great granddaughters Destiny Spicknall and Julia Gosnell; and her great grandsons Richie Spicknall and Brock Gosnell.
She is survived by her three sons: James W. Gosnell, Jr., Charles, and Ron Gosnell; her three daughters: Sandra Born, Donna Bibeau, and Peggy Fields; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
