BETTY JEAN PETERS, passed away peacefully at her home in Deming on Tuesday, July 26, 2016.
Betty Jean was born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on November 12, 1926. She and her loving husband Joe have lived in Deming since 1950. Last Wednesday, she and Joe celebrated their seventy-first wedding anniversary with all of her children present. Betty was the secretary at Deming High School for many years prior to her retirement. Betty was a people person and had many friends. She loved her family very much and went out of her way to make each family member feel special. She proudly introduced them to everyone when they were in town. Everyone loved to come to Deming to see Grandma.
Betty is survived by her husband, Joe Peters of the home; son, Donald Peters (Amelia Arévalo, M.D.); Don’s children, Frank and Elsa; daughter, Connie Peters Coffman and her husband John, and their children, Erin (Tim) Coffman, John Michael (Tess Amy) Coffman, Emily Coffman and Philip (Stephanie) Coffman, and her daughter, Susan Peters Haley and her husband Darryl and their children, Mark (Dee) Haley, deceased, Ryan (Helena) Haley, Morgan (Tyler) Scott and Jodi (Donavan) Miller along with great-grandchildren, Briana Elrod, Chandler, Shaun, and Peyton Haley, Ava Scott, and Reagan Miller.
