Betty P. (Hyatt) Shaw, 83, of Boxford, passed on Saturday morning June 1, 2019, at the Whittier Rehab Hospital in Bradford MA following a long 6-month stint in Hospitals & Rehabs for various problems. Born in Peabody MA in 1935, Betty went to Lynn English High School. After graduation, she went to work in the offices of Lydia E. Pinkham Medicine Co., where she met her future husband, Richard Shaw. The family built a house in Boxford MA where they still live today. Betty and Richard were married in 1956. They have four children; Cynthia (Shaw) Comeau of Bradford MA and her children; Michael Comeau & Brady Comeau (Amanda) who reside in KS, Wendy (Shaw) Sweeney & her husband Larry Sweeney of Missouri City TX and their children; Sean Sweeney & wife Rachel of Norfolk VA and Matthew Sweeney of Austen TX, Kevin Shaw & wife Heather (Love) Shaw of Brookline NH and their two daughters Amanda of Manchester NH and Colleen of RI. and a son Daniel Shaw of Haverhill. When the children were young adults Betty went to work at a number of jobs, including the Deer Skin Trading Post, for a Real Estate company., a secretary for a lawyer in Andover and finally a Police officer on the Boxford Police Department. She leaves a brother Alan Hyatt & his wife Joyce of North Reading MA. She had a sister Loretta (Hyatt) Alexander who is deceased. Betty had a great love for playing tennis and played on a traveling team at Cederdale in Bradford. Betty & Richard bought timeshares in Aruba and traveled to other countries like Ireland, Scotland, Jamaica, Mexico and Bermuda.
