Betty Mee, 83, of Great Falls passed away at a local care center on October 28, 2015.

Betty Jane was born March 1, 1932 in Great Falls, Montana to Marshall and Josephine (Noble) Finlayson. She was raised in the Belt and Sand Coulee area. Betty and her siblings attended grade school at the Spring Creek country school. She completed her education graduating from Centerville High School.

Betty and James Mee were married and from their union created a family; daughters Rita and Michelle and son, Tim. They later divorced. Betty met the love of her life, Bud Wojtala, her longtime partner and together they shared many years, memories and adventures, until Bud’s passing in 2006.

She worked for the Deaconess Hospital in Great Falls for her career, beginning in the kitchen and working her way to patient’s accounts clerk. Her work ethic was beyond compare; Betty was with the hospital for over forty years.

Betty was an avid bowler for many years. She enjoyed playing pinochle and especially enjoyed playing bingo. She also loved to go shopping with her daughters and sisters. She cherished the time spent with Bud’s daughter and son-in-law, Char and Rick Zimmer. Betty was a strong-willed and fiercely independent woman, a good friend to many. Everyone who knew and loved her, will greatly miss her.

She is survived by her family; children, Michelle Mee; Rita Mee; Tim Mee, all of Great Falls; her grandchildren Trisha Trainor, Desirae Trainor, Megan Sauke and Trevor Mee, all of Great Falls; her siblings, Bertha Ferguson of Great Falls; Richard Finlayson of Rock Springs, WY; Ellarene Finlayson; Lawrence Finlayson; and Russell Finlayson all of Sand Coulee, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and great nephews and the extended family of Bud Wojtala.

Betty was preceded in death by, her parents; her siblings, Marshall Finlayson; Roy Finlayson; Joann Finlayson and her special partner, Bud Wojtala.
