Betty M. Baumgardner, 88 , Huntington, passed away at 12:46 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2012 at The Tipton House, Huntington, IN. Mrs. Baumgardner was born September 23, 1923 in Whitley County, Indiana to Arthur and Lois Ferrell Smith. Her parents preceded her in death. Betty married Paul Richard “”Dick”” Baumgardner July 21, 1946. Mr. Baumgardner passed away on April 26, 2006
. Mrs. Baumgardner retired from Triad-Utrad. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was also an active member of the V.F.W. 2689 Auxiliary, and was a member of the drill team. Betty enjoyed bowling. Survivors include: two daughters: Vickie and husband Paul Swain, Roanoke and Debra and husband Jim Vodde, Troy, OH; one sister: Mary Kummer, Huntington; four grandchildren: Tonya (Trent) Ptak, Tyson (Jill) Biehl, Tara (Shane) Keechle and Brandon Vodde; seven great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and nine step-great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a sister: Elizabeth Osborn, and a granddaughter: Tamara Adams.
