Betty Louise Johnson, 87 of Centralia, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017.
She was born January 14, 1930 in Tamalco, daughter of Edward Hofstetter and Sophia (Schneider) Hofstetter. She married Bobby Dean Johnson on April 2, 1949 in Centralia and he survives in Centralia.
In addition to her husband of 68 years, she is also survived by two sons: Bruce Johnson and Marsha of Patoka and Bobby Johnson and wife Stacey of Centralia; two daughters: Jane Krutsinger and husband Doug of Centralia and Janis Ferrari and husband Carl of Centralia; six grandchildren: Beth Boeker and husband John of Iuka, Kim Hart and husband Sonny of Centralia, Jill Schilling and husband Tracy of Boulder, Jennifer Cain and husband Scott of Patoka, Ashton Payne and husband Jeremy of Centralia, and Mason Bonner of Centralia; 13 great-grandchildren: Jack and Julie Boeker, Elizabeth, Emily, and Elaina Hart, Karlie and Kate Schilling, Jered, Jaelyn, and Jesse Cain, Rylee McIntosh, and Brantlee and Penelope Payne; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson: Robert “Robb” Johnson, Jr., a brother: Wilford Hofstetter and wife Erma, and 10 half brothers and sisters.
Betty was a homemaker. She was of the Pentecostal Faith. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and canning vegetables. She was a seamstress and an accomplished cook. She was a devoted wife of 68 years and she loved her family. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandkids, great-grandkids, family and friends.
