Betty Lou (Greening) Garner, 87, formerly of Oglesby and Chatham, passed away March 29, 2016 at Heritage Healthcare Center in Peru.
Mrs. Garner was born April 3, 1928 in Oglesby to Clyde and Gertrude (Cole) Greening. She was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru Township High School and LPO Junior College. She married Ronald C. Garner on October 2, 1948 at the Oglesby Union Church. She was a member of the Cherry Hills Baptist Church in Springfield and the Christian Womens Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Garner and Linda (Don) Wilson, both of Oglesby; one son, Richard (Trish) Garner of Springfield; one daughter-in-law, Geri Garner of Auburn; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Shirley Garner of Oglesby; one brother-in-law, Kenneth (Mary) Garner of Texas; a special family friend, Cecile (David) Cummings of Grayson, LA and a special caregiver, Donna Downey of LaSalle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron on September 7, 2012 and one son, John C. Garner.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Mandy and Matt Ziller, Ben and Maria Wilson, Sarah and Bill Stone and Erica Vaughn.
