….Betty was born in Tonkawa, OK on August 1, 1924 to Clifford Davis and Betty Gardner Davis. She had two older sisters, Lillian and Lila Mae Gardner.Betty was raised in Oklahoma and Kansas. She graduated from high school in Fairview, OK in May 1942. Betty worked several jobs, and in July, 1948, went to work for the Boeing Company in Wichita, KS.Betty married Richard Lee Durham on July 28, 1963 in Wichita, February, 1965, Boeing transferred Richard and Betty to New Orleans, LA, to work on the space program. They lived in Slidell, LA for eight years. In November, 1967, Betty and Richard became charter members of First Christian Church, Slidell, LA. They moved to Picayune, MS in February, 1973.Betty retired from Boeing with 25 years of service, and retired from Lockheed Martin with 9 years of service. Betty and Richard celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 28, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford S. Davis and Betty Gardner Davis; her beloved husband, Richard Lee Durham; her step father, Edward Dunbar; and her sisters, Lillian Kilmer and Lila Mae Garner. Left to cherish her memory are her niece, Charlene Kleinschmidt, of Montana; one great nephew, four great nieces, and two great great nephews, all of Oklahoma.Betty gives special thanks to Trudi Barr, John and Helen Morrison, and Jane Smith, for their love and devotion through the years.
