Betty L. Winchell (nee Rawls) died Tuesday January 20, 2015 at the Masonic Home of NJ in Burlington Twp at the age of 88. Born in Hickory, NC to the late Leander and Lillian (nee Allen) Rawls, Betty grew up in Philadelphia, where she met her husband Paul and later moved to New Jersey, where she remained a longtime resident.
She was a former member of the 1st Baptist Church of Willingboro where she participated in a jail ministry program. She continued her ministry and aid to inmates through the Saint’s Ministry program at the Moorestown Bible Church. Wife of the late Paul Winchell, Betty was also predeceased by her sons Bill and John Winchell.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law David Winchell and Barbara Harrison, her grandson Daniel Winchell, her brother William Rawls, her nieces and nephews Bill, Barbara, Denise, John and Michael. She is also survived by her dear friend Kay Hall.
