Betty Louise Myers of Valparaiso died on October 7, 2014, at the age of 87. She was the daughter of Raymond and Louise Cowan and the widow of John E. Myers
She was born in Kansas and raised in Carlsbad, New Mexico, where she met her husband. In their marriage of 58 years, they lived in many interesting places as his career in the Air Force took them to assignments around the country and the world. They especially enjoyed the years they lived in Japan. She enjoyed many activities, including gardening, golf, antiquing, sewing, and traveling. Above all she spent her life caring for her children and grandchildren, her parents, and her husband. She was and her family is grateful for the care she herself received from the staff of Sterling House.
She is survived by her son Col Charles Myers (Molly), by her daughter Susan Myers Langley (Dr. Roland Langley), by her granddaughter Elizabeth Myers Igo (Brent) and great-grandchildren Sophie and Julian, by her grandson LTC John Myers, by her grandson Andrew Myers (Erika) and great-grandsons Jacob and Odin, and by her granddaughter Dr. Kelley Langley Sanders (Richard).
