Betty L. Ekiss, 94, of Morton, IL, formerly of Metamora, IL, passed away at Apostolic Christian Restmor of Morton, Illinois on Friday, November 26, 2021.
She was born on March 7, 1927 in Roanoke, Illinois, to Joseph J. and Nila G. (Snyder) Hangartner. She married Vincent D. Ekiss on July 31, 1949 in Roanoke. Her husband preceded her in death on December 14, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Shirley Henderson, brothers Jimmy and Jerry Hangartner, one niece, and one nephew.
Surviving are eight nephews and five nieces, plus many great-nephews and great-nieces.
Betty retired in October, 1982 from Caterpillar after 32 years in the Cost Accounting Department. In retirement, Betty and Vin traveled all over the United States and they loved having new experiences.
“Aunt Betty” as so many knew her, loved her many nieces and nephews.
