Betty June (Sloan) Lewis, 75, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Betty was born on December 7, 1945 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Hattie L. “Bonnie” (Cline) Wolski and Carl Sloan.
Betty was a graduate from Whiteland High School’s class of 1964. She worked in student affairs admissions at Atterbury Job Corps for 6-7 years and at IVY Tech for 2 years until her retirement in 2016.
Betty had a talent for baking and was skilled at knitting and sewing. She was a loving mother and a wonderful grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Along with creating memories with her loved ones, she enjoyed playing games, reading her favorite books, and tending to her flower garden.
Betty is survived by her two children, Tamara Peterec of Indianapolis, IN and Larry (Patti) Austin of Greenwood, IN; her four grandchildren, Taylor (Josh) Austin, Zachary (Morgan) Austin, Alex Peterec, and Abby (Connor) Crabbe; her five great-grandchildren, Xavier, Addley, Luke, Gentry, and Walker; her brother, Gary (Becky) Sloan of Indianapolis, IN.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Clive Lewis, and her parents, Bonnie and Carl.
