                                             Betty J. Goracke

  Betty June (Boatman) Goracke was born to Charles and Ines (Super) Boatman in Tecumseh, Nebraska on June 21, 1924.   Betty grew up on a farm east of Tecumseh.  She attended Tecumseh Public Schools and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1941. 

  She was united in marriage to Richard B. Goracke on August 25, 1943 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Mary, Nebraska.  To this union four children were born. During their time on the family farm northwest of Tecumseh, Betty was actively engaged in farming with her husband.  She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  When they semi-retired, Betty and Richard moved into Tecumseh in 1978. 

   Betty was an excellent seamstress and cook.  She enjoyed quilting, gardening and canning.  She baked the best dinner rolls in Johnson County! She was a longtime active member of St. Andrews Altar Society.  Betty bred Chihuahuas as a side business and hobby.  After Richard passed away in 2011, Betty moved to Ridgeview Towers in Tecumseh and later transferred to Belle Terrace. She passed away there on June 1, 2014 at the age of 89. 

  She is survived by her children, Sarah Seawall of Tecumseh, Carol Hurst of Hastings and Richard C. “Dick” Goracke and wife Deb of Tecumseh, grandchildren, Kim Bohling, Bob Bohling and wife Kristin, Joshua Hurst and wife Nichole, Lisa Pfeifer and husband Dustin, Stephanie Seawall, Travis Goracke and wife Jackie, Mandee Oronoz and husband Matthew, Richie Goracke and Molly Goracke, great-grandchildren, Brett, Trevor, Adelynn, Kinley, Ava, Gwendolyn, Austin, Max, Preston, Mia and Aaryn, son-in-law, Willis Bohling of Tecumseh and special pet, “Tippy”.

  Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard, daughter, Ann Bohling and sisters, Gretchen Taylor, Eula Wolken and Barbara Boatman.
